Warner: Budget Fails Pennsylvanians Today, Tomorrow

July 12, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Ryan Warner (R-Fayette) issued the following statement after voting against the 2026-27 state budget:

“Once again, this General Assembly is passing a budget that spends too much and puts Pennsylvania taxpayers on the path toward a future tax hike. Relying on one-time funds and accounting gimmicks to pay for recurring government expenses is reckless, unsustainable and a recipe for disaster. I refuse to support it.

“It’s time to stop growing government on the backs of taxpayers. If Harrisburg supposedly has this much money to spend, then it’s time to give some of it back to the hardworking people who earned it. Instead of pouring more money into new government programs we do not need, let’s provide meaningful tax relief so families can better afford their day-to-day expenses.

“Eliminating property taxes or the inheritance tax and lowering the gas tax would make a real difference for Pennsylvania families and business owners. Harrisburg does not have a revenue problem – it has a spending problem, and taxpayers should not be forced to pay the price.”
